Are you a “hit the parks every day” type of person? Or a “take a resort day break” type of person? I have done vacations both ways, but I lean towards squeezing in as much park time as possible personally. My family always loves it when we take the time to have a pool day at the resort though. One of our favorites was the half day cabana rental that we did at the Disneyland Hotel prior to the night we had did the Oogie Boogie Bash one year. It’s a great option if you don’t have tickets for every day and want to stay out as late as the possible for the party with kiddos.

The cabana rentals are a little pricey, but in my opinion totally worth it. The Disneyland Hotel pool features two water slides that are styled after the monorail. One is pretty easy going and the other is a little faster, but both are manageable for a lot of ages. The cabanas themselves are at the far end of the pool and feature a shaded area with a tv, refrigerator, couches, and a couple of lounges. They also provide you with free waters, a plate of fruit (my daughter just loved the orchid adorning it), peppermint scented cool washcloths for cooling off, and a server that can bring you food and drinks from a specialized poolside menu. Word to the wise, if you order a drink there from Trader Sam’s, there is no option to get the souvenir tiki cup with. Great drinks, but boy was I sad to miss out on the Ursula tiki.

The styling of the cabanas is very beachy with the typical Mickey and Disney accents, such as the Mickey towels in the picture above. My family loved it so much they were actually sad to leave the pool for Oogie Boogie, who would have guessed? The prices start at around $400 for a half day rental, but are dependent on the day you book.
